Sendai Crystal is a bookshelf-sculpture where movement and lightness merge in a perfect balance of art and functionality.
Designed by architect Toyo Ito, Pritzker Prize 2013, it expresses the same dynamic and poetic tension as his renowned Sendai Mediatheque in Japan.
The structure consists of six glass shelves available in three finishes — transparent, smoked, and bronze — supported by solid walnut and alder wood columns, each with different inclinations and cross-sections.
This variation gives the whole piece a vibrant, organic visual effect, transforming the bookshelf into an architectural presence that interacts naturally with light and surrounding space.
A furnishing piece that unites structural precision and artistic sensibility, embodying the Eastern philosophy of the great master: balance, simplicity, and natural harmony.
