Savoring a Glass of Wine in Bordeaux (#07)

Horm Stories #07

If you have a passion for wine, we’re certain you’ll appreciate today’s story: we want to introduce you to the headquarters of the Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB), the organization promoting wines from the region, which over the years has become a key landmark in the city.

It’s the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine in a sublime and unique setting—can you imagine sipping a delicious Saint-Émilion while gazing directly at the Grand Théâtre of Bordeaux?

The council’s building was recently renovated by architect Françoise Bousquet, who oversaw every detail of the renewal process, from restoring the façades to designing the interiors. The interiors are the project’s defining feature: to express the client’s values of quality, elegance, and excellence, several structures were created that are contemporary yet respectful of the region’s history. Materials traditionally associated with wine, such as steel, cork, and oak, were reinterpreted with a modern approach.

The furnishings followed the same design philosophy, creating a deliberately homely and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were designed to emulate warm and comfortable living spaces, making every guest feel at ease.

Within this overall vision, architect Bousquet selected the Maritime Chair as the perfect seating solution to embody elegance and refinement. This chair owes its distinctive style to classical design and expert craftsmanship, featuring a curved shell that gracefully follows the natural grain of solid oak.

Once again, Casamania seating, Horm Italia’s brand dedicated to hospitality furniture, demonstrated its ability to adapt to the designer’s precise needs, helping create a space that is both accessible and exclusive, firmly rooted in the present yet timeless.
