The First Dressing Room at the Arcimboldi Theatre (#01)

Horm Stories #01

Today, we are excited to introduce you to the First Dressing Room at TAM – Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan, a true highlight of Italian theater design.

The Primo Camerino is the crown jewel of the original project Vietato L’ingresso, which served as the foundation for a thorough renovation of the theater’s dressing rooms. A project born from the synergistic embrace between theater and interior design, where Italian design has managed to capture, in every detail, the soul of the great artists of the TAM.

Designed by Calvi Ceschia Viganò Architetti Associati, the renovation of the Primo Camerino is based on elements that enhance and reinforce the identity of a semicircular space. This inherently welcoming shape is constantly denied and reaffirmed: a custom-designed wool rug defines the floor space with a petrol-green hue and circular patterns in the same tone, while a large round brass LED chandelier highlights its soft lines, reinforcing the sense of centrality. All surfaces are coated in resin, including the bathrooms; the color palette ranges from shades of green to orange for the walls.

Horm contributed to this project with the elegance of the HCB Coat Rack and the versatility of the Ute Minimal mirrors, enhancing this space that beautifully merges art, design, and functional elegance.

First Dancer Roberto Bolle is well aware of this, having had the pleasure of using the Primo Camerino and appreciating its renewed stylistic spirit. Theater, art, and design form a perfect union that has always represented Milan and its culture to the world!
