Horm Stories #19
Today we want to introduce Dror Benshetrit, a designer, thinker, dreamer, and futurist whose ingenuity forms the foundation of an impressive range of unconventional projects.
Dror has been featured in Wallpaper Power 200*, a list of the world’s top design influencers, and in Fast Company’s “Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Design.”
Based in New York, Dror leads a team of professionals developing architecture and design projects for companies worldwide, including the Puma Pop-Up Pavilion, the sculpture for Brancott Estate in New Zealand, the 1.2-kilometer walkway along the Bosphorus in Istanbul, and MuBE in São Paulo.
All these projects are grounded in the distinctive hexagonal structure known as QuaDror: material is expertly cut and combined to create a new form, producing a structural element that, when opened, forms a stable and independent triangular base.
Sustainability, experimentation, and out-of-the-box thinking are the studio’s hallmarks. This way of thinking immediately resonated with Horm, resulting in a perfect collaboration: a fusion of Italian know-how and international creativity, producing some of the company’s most innovative products.
The Quadror collection by Horm, including tables, bookshelves, and dividers, is based on this architectural technique but reinterpreted in scale and materials to create unique and exclusive design pieces.
Once again, Horm demonstrates that the idea behind a design object is paramount: it is not mere art, but a thoughtful design process balancing functionality and beauty.
